한국전통음악을 현대적으로 해석해 공연하는 ‘악단 광칠(ADG7, Ak Dan Gwang Chil)’이 휴스턴에서 초청공연을 연다.
퍼포밍 아트 휴스턴(Performing Arts Houston) 이 주관하는 이번 초청공연은 29일(토) 밀러 아웃도어 극장(Miller Outdoor Theatre)에서 오후 8시 15분부터 시작된다.
국가와 장르를 불문하고 러브콜을 받고 있는 ‘악단광칠’은 (사)정가악회 유닛그룹으로 2015년 광복 70주년을 기념해 결성됐다. ‘악단광칠’은 전통음악과 현대음악을 엮어 전자악기 없이 오로지 국악기와 전통 보컬만으로 밴드만의 경쾌한 사운드를 선사한다.
ADG7 was organized in 2015, the year Korea commemorated its 70th anniversary of national liberation. By reconnecting with and reimaging shared Korean cultural roots, ADG7 expresses the true meaning of liberation and the desire for unification. The group’s recognitions include Best Group at the 2018 KBS Korean Traditional Music Awards and the Sori Frontier Award at the 2017 Jeongju International Sori Festival, plus recent performances at WOMEX (World Music Expo) 2019 and globalFEST 2020 as an official artists and as a grantee of Mid Atlantic Tours’ artist roster in 2021-2022.
