텍사스에서 가장 안전한 중소도시는 덴튼과 포트워스 사이에 위치한 트로피클럽인 것으로 나타났다. 안전 및 보안연구기관인 세이프와이즈는 인구통계 및 인구정보를 토대로 텍사스에서 가장 안전한 중소도시 50곳을 선정, 발표했다.
세이프와이즈에 따르면 인구는 2,500명 이상이며 30만명 미만의 도시만을 대상으로 인구 1000명당 범죄율과 총기범죄, 강간 및 성폭력 사건, 절도 기록 등을 종합한 FBI 데이터를 사용해 가장 안전한 상위 50대 중소도시를 선정했다.
선정된 도시들을 살펴보면 북텍사스 지역에 밀집되어 있는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 세이프와이즈는 “북텍사스 지역의 범죄율이 떨어지며 거주하기에 안전한 도시가 되고 있다”고 분석했다.
