한국 여권 파워가 세계 2위로 무비자나 도착비자로 쉽게 입국할 수 있는 국가와 속령이 192곳으로 집계됐다. 지난해 집계 190곳보다 세곳이 늘었다.
영국 국제교류 전문업체 헨리앤드파트너스(Henley & Partners) 가 발표한 분기별 여권지수 국제순위에서 1위를 차지한 곳은 일본으로 무비자 입국이 가능한 국가는 총 193곳으로 한국보다 한곳이 더 많았다.
헨리앤드파트너스는 국제항공운송협회(IATA) 자료를 바탕으로 전 세계 국가와 속령 227곳 가운데 각 국가의 여권 소지자가 무비자, 도착비자, 전자비자 등 방식으로 쉽게 입국할 수 있는 곳을 정리, 지표화하고 있다.
한국 여권은 지난 2013년에는 13위까지 떨어진 바 있지만 2018년부터는 2위에서 3위를 유지하고 있다. 미국여권은 186곳을 무비자로 갈수 있어 벨기에와 뉴질렌드, 노르웨이, 스위스와 공동 7위에 올랐다.
싱가폴은 한국과 함께 공동 2위를 차지했고 독일과 스페인이 공동 3위로 뒤를 이었다. 가장 낮은 곳은 아프가니스탄으로 27곳만 쉽게 입국이 가능했으며 북한은 40곳으로 105에 그쳤다.
