As preparations accelerate for the FIFA World Cup 2026, North Texas businesses are being urged to take advantage of newly released procurement opportunities tied to one of the largest sporting events in the world.
Through the North Texas Business Connect Program, local companies are being connected to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) issued by both FIFA and the North Texas World Cup Organizing Committee, known as Dallas26. The initiative is designed to ensure that qualified regional suppliers can participate in global contracting opportunities associated with the tournament.
Transportation Hub Equipment RFP Now Open
One of the most significant open solicitations focuses on Transportation Hub Equipment and Services for Lot H Transportation Hub and the CentrePort Station, two key mobility nodes expected to handle large volumes of spectators during the event.
The RFP seeks a turnkey vendor capable of providing temporary infrastructure, crowd management equipment, power and lighting systems, and full operational support throughout the World Cup event window. The submission deadline is February 13, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. CST.
Scope and Deliverables
The selected vendor will be responsible for the full lifecycle of event infrastructure support, including:
Detailed, itemized equipment inventories aligned with project requirements
Site-specific deployment plans for both Lot H and CentrePort
Installation, mobilization, and de-installation schedules
Daily operations, maintenance, and staffing plans
On-call incident response and operational support
Post-event site restoration and sustainability compliance reporting
The deployment and operations period will run from June 14 through July 14, 2026, coinciding with the World Cup tournament schedule.
Proposal Requirements and Evaluation
Proposals must include company qualifications, relevant experience with comparable large-scale events, a detailed project methodology, work plans, pricing structures, staffing models, and required licenses and certifications. Vendors must also meet insurance requirements, including commercial general liability, workers’ compensation, and automobile liability coverage where applicable.
Submissions will be evaluated using a weighted scoring system emphasizing:
Technical approach and project alignment (45%)
Experience, qualifications, and references (25%)
Cost and overall value (15%)
Human rights and sustainability compliance (10%)
Timeline feasibility (5%)
Notably, alignment with FIFA and Dallas26 human rights and sustainability standards is a required component of the evaluation, underscoring the event’s emphasis on responsible sourcing and long-term legacy impacts.

Economic development officials say the procurement represents more than a one-time contract opportunity. Participation in World Cup–related projects can position local firms for future international events and infrastructure projects by strengthening credentials, expanding networks, and demonstrating capacity to operate at a global scale.
